Robert Half broadens executive team with two insider hires

This article was written by a human. Here’s how to tell.

Robert Half, one of the largest players in the recruiting services market, has elevated two long-time insiders to key positions within its executive team.

The first new arrival to the senior leadership floor is Sara Gagen. Gagen, who has been with Robert Half for more than a decade, has landed the title of vice president for applications, technology and innovation.

In short, that means she will be responsible for running large swaths of the firm’s IT infrastructure. She will oversee, among other IT assets, Robert Half’s Salesforce environment and the software tools the recruiting giants uses to run marketing campaigns.

Gagen will also be responsible for some of the low-level IT infrastructure on which Robert Half’s business applications run.

Gagen is now the head of the firm’s Cloud Center of Excellence, which helps run its cloud-based hardware resources. Additionally, Robert Half says the executive’s responsibilities will encompass unspecified “other infrastructure services”.

Gagen “has been a driving force in our efforts to transform Robert Half’s technology solutions, systems and processes for more than a decade,” commented Robert Half chief technology officer James Johnson.

Gagen is taking this latest step up the corporate ladder together with colleague Lucy Marino, another long-time Robert Half insider.

Marino joined the recruiting giant more than two decades ago. After serving as the firm’s top executive in several major U.S markets, she has now been appointed to lead its marketing and creative practice as executive director.

The practice is responsible for helping companies hire marketing, advertising and PR professionals. Marino is hardly a stranger to the creative world: she earlier led a Robert Half unit that specializes in recruiting tech and marketing talent for large enterprises.

Commenting on Marino’s promotion, Robert Half talent solutions boss Paul Gentzkow remarked that “with her deep knowledge of the digital, marketing and creative space, I am confident she will implement innovative strategies to better serve our customers and grow this important piece of our business.”
