HubSpot consulting partner Huble Digital recently acquired Digitag, a fellow HubSpot consultancy with offices in Belgium, to expand its international presence. London-headquartered Huble said that the deal will increase its headcount to more than 175 employees.

Boardroom Insight caught up with Huble board chair Bob Dearsley this month to discuss the acquisition. The deal, Dearsley explained, is part of an effort on the consultancy’s part to expand its presence in French-speaking markets. Digitag is also expected to bolster Huble’s sales and marketing consulting practice.

Boardroom Insight: Digitag is not the only partner in the HubSpot ecosystem that focuses on the French-speaking market. Can you talk a bit about how Digitag’s name floated to the top during the M&A company search process?

Bob Dearsley: We saw in Digitag an award-winning growth marketing agency and HubSpot Gold Partner. They do lead generation for their clients really well. The Digitag team combines in-depth HubSpot knowledge with a specialist digital advertising team with a lot of experience in paid media management. This fitted very well with the development of our business offerings overall.

The best part of the acquisition is the people, this will bring our headcount to over 175 people and Maxime Charbit, Managing Director of Digitag, will join our Board and lead our French-speaking business. We focus on trying to find “people like us”! People who ‘get’ HubSpot, but perhaps more importantly, people who enjoy the Huble approach to business and our values. Maxime and his two fellow Directors are great characters and they have built a close knit team with some great customers.

Boardroom Insight: In what areas will Digitag extend Huble’s capabilities?

Bob Dearsley: Through this acquisition, Huble will be better equipped to support our clients around the world and in a wider range of languages, including English, German, and now French.

We have previously not been able to respond to a number of international opportunities as we lacked the native French language speakers that were required.

With Digitag in the Huble Digital Group it will allow us to expand and extend our business in Belgium and France, as well as expanding the opportunity for our key prize engagements which are big, complex and very international HubSpot opportunities. Our native French, German and English language speakers provide huge capability for our international clients as they build new websites and develop far reaching international sales and marketing programmes, as well as extending our international HubSpot training and consulting.

Boardroom Insight: Huble acquired bubblebridge, a Germany-based HubSpot Diamond partner, last year and with Digitag you’re now gaining a team in Belgium. That’s two acquisitions in two years. Can you zoom in a bit on Huble’s growth journey so far and the growth opportunities you see ahead?

Bob Dearsley: This acquisition continues our path of growth that started in 2020 when Huble Digital Group was launched as a result of the merger of HubSpot Elite Solutions Partner, The B2B Marketing Lab, and HubSpot Diamond Solutions Partner, MPULL, that at that time were two of the largest and longest established HubSpot Software Solutions Partners in EMEA.

Since then we have grown significantly, adding bubblebridge international GmbH in Munich in March of 2022, making Huble one of the largest HubSpot Solutions Providers worldwide, employing over 150 people and being the first to become certified for ISO/IEC 27001:2013 security compliance in all of our international business locations.

Adding Digitag brings together four of the most successful HubSpot Partners as one international team, providing us with locations in London, Munich, Brussels, Chicago, Vancouver, Singapore, Cape Town and in the last few days we have added a new base in Mexico City.

We are arguably already the largest HubSpot partner able to deliver on a global basis and our role as a HubSpot global systems integrator will continue to expand and extend our reach in our effort to become the biggest, the best and the safest pair of hands to build your business creatively around the HubSpot platform.

Our next focus will be the USA and APAC where we see strong need for international support.
