Korn Ferry wins analyst recognition for its recruiting services

Korn Ferry, the HR-focused management consultancy, was named a “global leader” in a recent market report from Everest Group on the RPO industry.

RPO is short for recruiting process outsourcing. That’s a practice wherein a company hires an outside firm to find candidates on its behalf.

Korn Ferry is a major player in that market: this is the seventh time it has been named a leader in RPO by Everest Group. The latter firm is a provider of market research that ranks consultancies based on the quality of their services to help companies make buying decisions.

Korn Ferry isn’t the only consultancy that was named as a leader in Ever Group’s latest RPO market study. However, the firm did stand out from the pack because it nabbed the “Star Performer” designation, an impressive feat given the report compared no fewer than 49 major RPO providers.

Korn Ferry’s RPO services can assistant companies with recruiting not only rank-and-file employees, but also executives. Additionally, the company works with clients to find temporary staff and interim executives: a company looking for a new CEO can find a temporary one through Korn Ferry while it finds its ideal candidate.

Everest Group gave several reasons for its decision to name Korn Ferry a star performer.

One reason is that the consultancy’s RPO unit is seeing strong growth, which means it’s doing something right as far as clients are concerned. The business’ hiring volumes has been growing by double digit percentage points lately in the U.S., U.K. and India.

Korn and Ferry’s investments in software also got it good points with Everest Group. The consultancy has built tools that assist its corporate clients with tasks such as promoting employees.

Korn Ferry’s strong performance in Everest Group’s latest RPO group is not too big of a surprise. Whereas most major management consultancies spread themselves thin across a wide variety of project types, Korn Ferry focuses almost exclusively on the HR field, which no doubt gives it an edge in some areas.

Besides recruiting, the consultancy also assists companies with organizational planning. Korn Ferry can figure out how many team a company should have, how many employees should work at each team and what tasks they should be assigned to maximize performance.

Korn Ferry also takes less strategic-centric on more hands-on projects for its clients. It can create employee rewards plans, figure out how much managers should be paid and coach the executive team on ways it can become more productive.
