Rolf Driesen is the new CEO of Deloitte Belgium

Long-time consulting executive Rolf Driesen has been appointed to the top job at Deloitte’s Belgian affiliate.

Deloitte is the world’s largest accounting firm with revenues of $59.3 billion as of its 2022 fiscal year. The firm’s Belgian affiliate, which largely operates as an independent company, has about 6,000 employees in 11 offices around the country.

Driesen is replacing outgoing CEO Piet Vandendriessche, who held the top post for eight years. Vandendriessche nearly doubled Deloitte’s headcount and revenue in Belgium during his stint at the helm.

Put differently, Driesen has big shoes to fill.

Driesen previously led Deloitte Belgium’s consulting practice, which employs about 1,850 people. The consulting practice accounted for €250 of the  €706 million in fees that Deloitte earned from its Belgian business operations during 2022.

Deloitte Belgium offers a broad range of professional services. The consulting practice that Driesen led before his promotion to CEO provides software implementation assistance to clients, as well as financial and business advisory.

The consulting practice assists Belgian firms with the implementation of high-end business software products like Salesforce cloud services. Companies use Salesforce services to manage their sales, marketing an customer support activities.

Deloitte Belgium’s consulting practice also works with corporate clients to optimize their business operations. Experts from Deloitte Belgium can work with a company’s executive to figure out the optimal price for a new product, optimize marketing campaigns and support M&A activities.

Driesen has led Deloitte Belgium’s consulting practice since 2016. He originally joined the firm in 2002 and made partner four years later.

“With his 20+ years of experience in consultancy, his proximity to the business world and its ever-evolving changes, Rolf Driesen is in an excellent position to take on the role of CEO,” remarked Deloitte Belgium chair Nikolaas Tahon. “ Rolf and his leadership team will further develop the organisation, its current market leadership, its commitment to outstanding quality and reliability, and its position as a crucial and sustainable partner for organisations facing the economic and societal challenges of today.”

Driesen is set to step into the CEO role on June 1, but predecessor Vandendriessche will continue to lead Deloitte Belgium until the end of May 31 to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
