EisnerAmper appoints long-time consulting executive Tim Drozd as CFO

EisnerAmper has refreshed its leadership team by appointing Tim Drozd as partner and chief financial officer.
Drozd previously held the same role at ENTRUST, a consultancy focused on the utility infrastructure market. The executive earlier held the CFO title at two other professional service firms. Notably, all three companies are owned by private equity funds. That experience should come in handy at EisnerAmper.

In 2021, a private equity firm called TowerBrook became EisnerAmper’s majority stakeholder. The investment was the first such deal to involve a top 20 U.S. accounting firm. In March, TowerBrook announced a so-called continuation vehicle transaction involving its EisnerAmper stake. Such deals enable a private equity firm to sell some of its holdings to external investors. TowerBrook inked the agreement with a consortium led by AlpInvest and Hamilton Lane.
At the time of the deal, TowerBrook stated that the transaction would help EisnerAmper accelerate its growth. The consulting firm says that one of Drozd’s responsibilities as CFO will be to ensure its growth is sustainable.
EisnerAmper’s growth strategy places particular emphasis on acquisitions. It has purchased 3 companies since the beginning of the year, most recently a Bay Area business advisory firm called Sherwood Partners. The consultancy helps clients with tasks such as intellectual property monetization.
When TowerBrook announced the continuation vehicle transaction in March, it stated that EisnerAmper’s growth strategy also includes other components. In particular, the accounting firm plans to increase its AI usage and broaden its professional services lineup. EisnerAmper moved into the marketing services segment in January with the acquisition of a boutique agency called MLCworks.
