Management consulting firm Oliver Wyman has appointed 78 new partners and executive directors to its leadership team.

Oliver Wyman is a major management consultancy with more than 6,000 professionals in 30 countries. It operates as a subsidiary of Marsh McLennan, a New York-based professional services firm that is also active in the insurance and investment management markets.

Oliver Wyman’s services span the gamut of business optimization, product development and deal support.

The firm can help a company find opportunities to reduce costs and make its salespeople more convincing. Oliver Wyman also assists corporate clients with more specialized tasks that require domain expertise, such as making auto plants more efficient.

Yet another area of focus for the firm is deal support. It works with private equity funds and other investors to carry out corporate acquisitions, as well as find ways of realizing a return on those acquisitions.

Oliver Wyman makes a major round of promotions every year in November. The 78 new partner and executive director appointments that Oliver Wyman has announced represent the largest round of promotions announced to date by the firm.

According to the firm, 15 of newly appointed executives are based in New York. The city is home to the headquarters of both Oliver Wyman and its parent company, Marsh McLennan.

The firm made another dozen-plus promotion in other parts of the U.S, 15 in London and five in Paris. The remaining executives are scattered across more than 10 of Oliver Wyman’s global office locations.

The record round of promotions follows a period of strong business performance for the firm. In the first nine months of the year, Oliver Wyman generated revenues of $2 billion, a 15% increase from the same time a year earlier.
