Randstad doubles down on the IT sector with new business division

Staffing giant Randstad has launched a new business unit, Randstad Digital, that will offer technical recruiting services and related offerings to clients.
The unit will focus on three main areas.
The first is helping companies recruit IT professionals. Randstad says it can work with clients to hire experts in cloud infrastructure, analytics, software development and related areas.
The second pillar of Randstad Digital’s solutions portfolio is a network of what the firm describes as global talent centers. Through those centers, it will enable companies to recruit entire, preassembled technical teams rather than individual professionals.
This approach compresses the team-building work that companies usually have to do after recruiting new hires. As a result, Randstad clients should be able to get new IT initiatives off the ground faster after wrapping up the initial recruiting stage.
The third core component of Randstad Digital’s portfolio is a set of managed solutions. With those solutions, Randstad is offering to give clients access to “our expertise in customer experience, cloud & infrastructure, data & analytics, and digital & product engineering.”
In a sign of Randstad Digital’s importance to Randstad’s long-term growth strategy, the firm has named Venu Lambu as the Chief Executive Officer of the unit. Lambu was previously president and executive director at LTIMindtree, one of the IT services sector’s largest players. He earlier led the infrastructure, cloud & technology business of Cognizant, another leading player in that space with more than 350,000 employees worldwide.
“Businesses trust Randstad with their toughest challenges, and now I’m confident that Randstad Digital’s agile model can constantly adapt to evolving client needs and business demands,” Lambu said in a statement. “The organization is uniquely positioned to guide clients through the uncharted waters of transformation, leveraging its comprehensive toolkit of capabilities to steer projects toward success. At Randstad, we see talent first, digital-first as dual priority becoming a key differentiator as businesses enter the next phase of their transformation. And our ambition is to provide them with the talent-driven digital solutions and services they will need to succeed.”
The launch of Randstad Digital comes a few months after the staffing giant acquired a logistics firm called Grupo CTC for €80.5 million. Grupo CTC’s main focus is providing logistics services that help companies in the Iberian Peninsula operate their supply chains more efficiently.
