Deloitte Deutschland appoints Maren Hauptmann to the helm of its consulting business

This article was written by a human. Here’s how to tell.

Deloitte Deutschland, the German affiliate of the world’s largest professional services network, has appointed long-time partner Maren Hauptmann to the helm of its consulting business.

The executive is succeeding Nicolai Andersen, who is moving on to a global role at the Big Four member. He has been named global lead for strategy, risk and transactions.

Deloitte Deutschland ended its most recent fiscal year with €2.33 billion in revenue, up from €1.92 billion 12 months earlier. The consulting business now headed by Hauptmann grew at a faster pace than the firm as a whole, boosting its fee income by more than 30% to €1.1 billion in the same time frame.

Deloitte Deutschland’s consulting business provides a broad menu of advisory services to its clients. The unit can help with digital transformation projects, such as initiatives designed to modernize a company’s applications by moving them to the cloud. Deloitte Deutschland also provides merger and acquisition support, as well as professional services spanning a range of other areas including real-estate and marketing.

Human capital consulting is another major focus for the firm. Hauptmann was the partner responsible for Deloitte Deutschland’s human capital offering before taking up the top post at its consulting business. According to an official company webpage, her focus areas include workforce advisory, strategic change management and organizational design and transformation.

There’s a large market for human capital consulting services because HR is an important factor in many business decisions. When a firm buys a competing business, it must ensure that employees at that business won’t leave during the corporate integration process. If a large enterprise wants to become more nimble by deploying a new AI productivity application, it must provide its workers with training to ensure they will make the most out of the software.

Deloitte employed more than 450,000 people worldwide at the end of its most recent fiscal year. The professional services network generated $64.9 billion in revenue during the 12 months ended May 31, 2023, up from $59.33 billion a year earlier.
