Capgemini wins Forrester recognition for its sustainability consulting

Capgemini, one of Europe’s largest tech consultancies, has been named a “Leader” in a newly published Forrester study of the IT sustainability services market.

The “The Forrester Wave™: IT Sustainability Service Providers, Q3 2023” evaluated Capgemini and 10 of its competitors across 28 criteria. Forrester is a respected research firm that advises many CIOs on buying decisions, which means getting featured in one of its reports can have significant sales implications for a consultancy.

The research firm provided several reasons for its decision to name Capgemini a leader. One of them was the consultancy’s strong partner ecosystem: Capgemini provides clients with access to sustainability technologies from startups, large IT vendors and, occasionally, academic institutions.

The firm’s expertise in sustainable data center management was also cited as a strong suit by Forrester. Data centers consume a massive amount of electricity, which means they’re often a central focus of enterprises’ environmental initiatives.

Capgemini’s work with corporate clients to reduce their energy usage extends beyond data centers as well.

In one case study listed on its website, Capgemini details how it worked with a utility to deploy sensors throughout its infrastructure and find inefficiencies. Addressing those inefficiencies helped the utility cut its power use, Capgemini says. The consultancy’s website also highlights a range of similar projects carried out for logistics companies, manufacturers and other companies.

“We believe this recognition by Forrester further underlines our ability to accelerate the sustainability journey of our clients across the entire value chain,” commented Capgemini executive Vincent Charpiot.
