Baker Tilly bolsters its IT consulting portfolio with new Oracle Cloud service

This article was written by a human. Here’s how to tell.

Baker Tilly, a top ten accounting network, has launched a new consulting service designed to help midmarket companies implement Oracle Cloud products.

The service focuses on two of the software vendor’s applications: its cloud-based ERP and HCM platforms. ERP software stores information about a company’s back office operations in a central database. HCM software is used by HR teams to manage hiring and other key day-to-day tasks.

Baker Tilly is most closely associated with the accounting services market. But like other major accounting networks, it’s also highly active in other parts of the consulting landscape including the IT advisory segment. Baker Tilly has been an Oracle partner for more than 15, a time frame during which it worked with clients ranging from midmarket firms to the Fortune 50.

Setting up Oracle software products can take upwards of months because there is a considerable number of moving pieces to manage. According to Baker Tilly, its new consulting service speeds up the workflow for clients implementing Oracle’s ERP and HCM platforms. The firm also says that it can offload work from a firm’s internal IT teams and thus enable them to focus on other projects.

Baker Tilly’s consultants can customize the interface of Oracle software for a client’s requirements. The firm can also set up user accounts for employees that define which feature and data each given worker may access, as well as which functionality is off-limits.

Baker Tilly handles more complex tasks as well. Notably, its consultants can plug a company’s Oracle deployment into its existing applications to facilitate data sharing. That process tends to involve a considerable amount of effort because the number of applications for which a company may wish to add integrations can run into the dozens. Furthermore, some of those workloads may have legacy architectures that may not interoperate well with more modern products such as Oracle’s cloud services.

“Mid-sized organizations face the same challenges large organizations do, often with tighter financial and time constraints,” remarked Kayla Flint, the head of Baker Tilly’s Oracle Cloud practice. “We provide an accelerated implementation methodology that allows mid-market businesses to reap the benefits of Oracle Cloud solutions.”
