Accenture has acquired Unlimited, a British company that operates four marketing agencies with a combined workforce of more than 600 professionals.
Accenture didn’t share the acquisition’s price, which was likely significant. It did say Unlimited will move under the wing of its Song marketing division, which ranks as one of the world’s largest advertising services providers. The unit generated sales of $18 billion in 2023, 14% more than the previous year.
“To be joining such an ambitious and forward-thinking strategic organization is a massive moment for us,” Unlimited CEO Chris Mellish commented in prepared remarks. “We have found a home where both our people and our clients can continue to thrive in an organization that has its eye towards shaping the future of our industry. We can’t wait to see the positive impact we’ll be able to make on our clients together.”
Unlimited’s flagship marketing agency is TMW, which runs marketing campaigns for clients ranging from regional furniture chains to major international brands such as Ferraro and Suzuki. The agency has about 320 employees who account for over half of Unlimited’s total workforce. They assistant clients with ad concept development and other creative projects, as well as more technical tasks such as managing a company’s CRM data pool.
Unlimited’s three other marketing agencies are Walnut, Health Unlimited and Nelson Bostock. Walnut has a similar business model as TMW, providing a broad menu of marketing services to clients. Its two sister firms have a narrower focus: Health Unlimited and Nelson Bostock are mainly active in the healthcare and public relations markets, respectively.
