Unit4 and BDO USA launch consulting partnership

Enterprise software company Unit4 has teamed up with BDO USA to provide IT and business consulting services for mutual customers.

Unit4 makes software that enables enterprises’ accounting, procurement and project management departments to carry out their day-to-day work more efficiently. The company boasts more than 6,000 customers including a large number of consulting firms.

BDO USA, in turn, is one of the largest consulting firms in the U.S. It provides accounting and tax assistance to corporate clients, as well as a range of other advisory services.

BDO USA will combine its advisory services with Unit4’s enterprise software as part of the new partnership that the companies have signed. The companies will market their joint offering primarily to organizations in the nonprofit, consulting and higher education sectors, plus state and local governments.

“Organizations in these sectors must constantly adapt to new and complex challenges,” stated Andrea Espinola Wilson, co-lead of BDO’s nonprofit and education practice. “Together with Unit4, we will help organizations improve resilience and deliver on their mission.”

One of the areas that BDO and Unit4 plan to prioritize as part of their collaboration is systems integration.

In a software context, systems integration is the term for linking a newly purchased software product to a company’s existing IT systems. For example, a nonprofit that buys one of Unit4’s software products may wish to integrate it with its accounting tools.

Thanks to Unit4’s new partnership with BDO USA, customers will be able to more easily access technical assistance from the latter firm’s consultants when embarking on such projects. BDO USA operates a sizable IT consulting practice that is active in multiple areas ranging from cybersecurity to software development.

Unit4 expects the partnership to extend beyond the IT realm as well. The companies plan to assist joint customers in areas such as regulatory compliance, financial optimization and business consulting.
