Turnberry grows Midwest presence with new office launch
Turnberry Solutions, a midsize IT and consulting shop with Fortune 500 clientele, is setting up an office near Kansas City to grow its presence in the Midwest.
Turnberry Solutions employs about 1,800 people in multiple states. Its main specialty is helping large companies implement applications from major business software brands such as Salesforce, Oracle and SAP.
As part of its latest market expansion, Turnberry Solutions is opening an office in Overland Park, the largest suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. The new office will give the firm more direct access to the large pool of potential clients in the region.
The Kansas City metropolitan area is home to the offices of numerous Fortune 500 companies including AT&T, Citibank and Ford. The region also houses the headquarters of several high-profile consultancies including Populous, the architecture firm behind some of the world’s most frequented baseball and basketball stadiums.
“Over the last 21 years, we have watched Turnberry consultants solve problems for clients across a spectrum of needs – whether that’s strategy consulting, statement of work-based projects, or traditional IT staffing – and we know we can bring that same expertise to solve the problems unique to our Kansas City partners,” commented Turnberry Solutions chief executive Jim Kelly.
Turnberry’s plans to grow its market presence in Kansas City place an emphasis on its Crew recruiting offering.
The offering, which launched about decade ago, helps companies recruit associate-level technology and business professionals with up to five years of experience. Turnberry not only sources candidates but also provides training.
The firm sources about half its candidates directly from universities.
A sizable portion of the revenue that Turnberry generates through Crew comes from large enterprises: the firm says that more than 40 Fortune 500 companies have used the offering to date. The fact that Kansas City is home to the offices of Fortune 500 firms such as AT&T and Citi was presumably a key driver behind Turnberry’s decision to establish a presence in the city.
Turnberry already has an office in St. Louis, the second largest city in Missouri behind Kansas City when including their respective metropolitan areas. The firm also maintains operations in other Midwestern states, including Iowa and Minnesota.
