SEI continues market expansion with new Seattle area office

SEI, a tech and business consultancy with more than 600 employees, has set up shop in the Seattle metropolitan region.

The consultancy opened an office in the Seattle suburb of Bellevue on May 25 and appointed long-time insider Rick Podwojski to lead the branch. Podwojski, who has been with SEI for more than 30 years, previously led four other regional offices for the firm.

SEI got its start in 1992 as a small Connecticut-based consultancy. Since then, it has extended its presence to a dozen different cities in the U.S. and built up a workforce of more than 600 people.

SEI provides technology consulting services to Fortune 500 companies and other clients. Companies can hire SEI to help them pick the best software vendor for an IT project, as well as train employees in using the newly acquired software.

The consultancy also takes on a variety of other consulting projects. It can build business intelligence dashboards and help companies check if their data management practices comply with applicable regulations.

On the management consulting side, SEI works with clients to optimize internal business processes.

It’s not too surprising that SEI has decided to set up shop in the Seattle region. Expanding into new cities through office expansions has long been a part of the firm’s revenue growth strategy and Seattle was an obvious pick.

The city’s metropolitan area is home to multiple Fortune 500 companies including Amazon and Starbucks to name a few. Furthermore, it hosts the offices of numerous other large firms that could be interested in the consulting services SEI has to offer.

SEI opened two new offices last year in Nashville and Charlotte. With that in mind, it wouldn’t be too surprising if the company were to make additional office launch announcements in the coming months and years.
