RSM names long-time executive Joe Adams as board chair
RSM has appointed Joe Adams, an executive who led its U.S. member firm for more than a decade, as board chair.
The appointment is the latest in a long series of milestones that Adams has achieved during his lengthy career at RSM.
The executive first joined the consultancy back in 1978. He initially worked as an auditor, specializing in areas such as corporate acquisitions and business strategy, before moving to an executive role.
Adams became the CEO of RSM’s U.S. member firm, RSM US, in 2011. He held that role for 11 years and tripled the firm’s revenue in that time frame while also helping to significantly grow its headcount.
Over the more than four decades he has spent at RSM, Adams also led the launch of its business operations in Canada. More recently, he helped develop the business strategy that is driving the firm’s current growth roadmap.
That strategy calls for RSM to double its revenues by the end of the decade. To achieve this objective, the firm plans to make significant investments in new technologies such as AI.
Adams is no stranger to the RSM boardroom, either. He has been a director since 2016.
“It is an extremely exciting time in RSM’s growth story as we continue our developmental journey,” commented RSM International chief executive Jean Stephens. “Joe’s experience in growing RSM US over a sustained period of time will be valuable as we continue to serve our clients, transform our business and create a positive culture for our teams.”
Adams is taking over the board chair role from Brian Eaton, who has held the position for a total of 12 years. Eaton will remain on the RSM board as a director.
