Randstad updates leadership team and executive board

Randstad, the world’s largest staffing company, is heading into March with a reshuffled leadership team.

The main news item is the appointment of long-time Randstad executive Jorge Vazquez to the CFO role. As part of the promotion, Vazquez will join the firm’s executive board.

“We led a thorough process to find the right successor and are confident that Jorge has the right background and deep company knowledge to succeed in this role,” commented Wout Dekker, the chair of Randstad’s supervisory board.

Randstad is also assigning new responsibilities to two other corporate leaders. Myriam Beatove Moreale, the firm’s chief HR officer, will join the executive board alongside Vazquez, while Herman Nijns will take over Randstad’s business operations in Southern Europe and Latin America.

Randstad helped pioneer the concept of a temporary staffing agency when it  launched in 1960. The Dutch firm grew at a gradual but steady clip in the subsequent decades and is now the market leader with revenues of €27.6 billion as of last year.

Randstad doesn’t focus exclusively on the temporary staffing market. The company also recruits candidates for permanent positions, has a presence in the executive search segment and offers HR consulting services.

Jorge Vazquez, Randstad’s incoming CFO, has been with the company for over a decade. Vazquez not only possesses extensive corporate finance experience, which is table stakes for CFOs, but also brings business management skills to the role.

At one point during his career, the executive was Randstad’s head of strategy. He also spent a stint as the firm’s controller and most recently headed its Southern Europe and Latin America business in the role of CEO.

Now that Vazquez is moving up the corporate ladder, responsibility over the Southern Europe and Latin America business will be handed over to Herman Nijns. Nijns is the current CEO of the Randstad business unit focused on Belgium, Luxembourg and the Nordics.
