HCLTech and CrowdStrike expand their cybersecurity partnership

HCLTech will use CrowdStrike’s Falcon cybersecurity platform to help organizations fix vulnerabilities in their networks.

The collaboration expands on an existing two-year partnership between the firms. India-based HCLTech is one of the world’s largest technology service providers with more than $14.5 billion in annual revenue. CrowdStrike, in turn, a Nasdaq-listed maker of cybersecurity software.

The partnership centers on the so-called CTEM features that CrowdStrike ships with its Falcon platform. Those features spot weak points that might expose a company’s network to hackers. The software can, for example, flag applications that contain known code vulnerabilities. Falcon also detects configuration-related issues such as firewalls that aren’t set up properly. It can find such flaws across cloud environments, IoT fleets and other IT assets.

The platform determines which vulnerabilities should be fixed most urgently using a technology called ExPRT.AI. According to CrowdStrike, it estimates a cybersecurity issue’s severity by looking at factors such as whether it’s currently the focus of hacking campaigns. Falcon also generates remediation tips while at it.

HCLTech’s consultants will use Falcon to identify cybersecurity issues in client organizations’ networks. The company also expects the software to speed up its vulnerability remediation efforts. HCLTech plans to use Falcon alongside VERITY, an internally-developed security offering designed to protect internet-facing assets such as corporate websites.
