Former DWF CEO’s law firm invests in startup Connectd
Law firm arch.law, which is led by the former CEO of legal services giant DWF, has invested in startup Connectd to advance its growth plan.
UK-based arch.law launched in 2020. Founder and CEO Andrew Leaitherland previously headed DWF Group, a publicly traded law firm with more than 3,000 staffers.
Connectd, the startup in which arch.law invested, operates a web service through which entrepreneurs can connect with prospective investors. Entrepreneurs also use the startup’s service to find advisors who can support their business growth efforts.
The investment from arch.law doesn’t mark the first time Connectd has raised outside financing. The startup earlier received about $3 million from a group of institutional and individual investors.
Connectd and arch.law will partner to develop a new legal service called ConnectdLegal. Through ConnectdLegal, arch.law plans to offer startup executives access to pre-packaged legal documents like contract templates.
The startups that sign up for the service will also be able to access additional legal assistance from arch.law. In other words, ConnectdLegal could not only create a new revenue stream for arch.law but also grow its pool of long-term clients.
ConnectdLegal is one of several legal services that arch.law has launched over the past year as part of its growth strategy. Along the way, the firm acquired Australia-based Nexus Law Group to expand its international presence.
Over the next few years, arch.law plans to continue expanding into new geographics and grow its roster of legal services. CEO Andrew Leaitherland grew his previous company, DWF Group, from a regional law firm focused on Northern England to a major market player with dozens of offices worldwide.
