Accenture snaps up Oracle consultancy Inspirage

Accenture has completed its purchase of Oracle consultancy Inspirage, which assists firms with the installation and maintenance of new software products.

Inspirage’s main specialty is supply chain software.

Large manufacturers, national retailers and other big companies that deal in physical goods have sprawling supply chains. Managing the flow of goods on such a scale requires numerous software applications that are difficult to set up and, often, even more challenging to maintain.

Many companies buy the applications they use to manage their supply chains from a firm called Oracle. If they need help setting up Oracle’s software, they can turn to Inspirage for help.

Oracle sells one application for sourcing goods from suppliers and another for managing the process of shipping those goods to where they need to go. If a company wants to measure how efficiently its supply chain is operating, it needs to buy yet another piece of software from the vendor.

Oracle’s software portfolio doesn’t end there. Operating a supply chain also involves many accounting and HR chores, which Oracle can simplify as well with a line of business applications specifically focused on such tasks.

Companies call in Inspirage when they need help setting up all those software products.

The firm, whose headquarters is located not far from Seattle, also takes on other types of consulting projects. Companies can hire it to maintain their Oracle applications after the initial setup is complete.

Inspirage is an Oracle Platinum Partner, a status that it shares with only a handful of other companies including consulting giants KPMG and PwC. Inspirage nabbed the Oracle Excellence Award for Specialized Partner of the Year for five years in a row from 2014 to 2019.

Accenture first announced its intention to buy Inspirage last September. Now that the deal is complete, the consulting giant will fold Inspirage into its Oracle Business Group, which is one of the largest consultancies in the entire Oracle ecosystem.

The group employs 61,000 professionals worldwide and has nabbed 183 awards since 2003. Accenture is an Oracle Cloud Elite Partner, which puts it two not one but two levels above Platinum Partners such as KPMG, PwC and Inspirage.

“With the addition of Inspirage and its deep industry and systems experience, Accenture will be even better positioned to help our clients reinvent supply chain and manufacturing through Oracle technologies,” remarked Renato Scaff, the head of Accenture’s supply chain and operations business in North America.
