PwC launches AI consulting collaboration with Cohere

Consulting giant PwC will help its clients adopt Cohere’s large language models.

Cohere is a Canadian startup that competes with OpenAI and Anthropic. One of its LLMs’ main differentiators is that customers can deploy them on-premise. That’s an important requirement for companies in highly regulated sectors. In many cases, running AI models on internal infrastructure makes it easier for such firms to comply with industry-specific cybersecurity rules.

PwC’s role in the partnership will be to help clients integrate Cohere’s models into their business operations. The consulting firm can identify the use cases that a company should prioritize with its AI automation efforts. From there, PwC sorts out the technical implementation details. The firm can, for example, provide a Cohere’s model with access to the business application that it needs to automate a procurement task. PwC also implements governance controls that filter AI hallucinations.

The partnership will encompass not only Cohere’s foundation models but also its North application. It’s a productivity tool that enables non-technical professionals to automate repetitive parts of their work. North can create AI agents, summarize documents and generate presentations.

PwC and Cohere will initially launch their joint offering in Canada, which is home to the latter company’s headquarters. They plan to expand the partnership to additional markets down the road.
